Please see below replies from Fingal County Council to issues that we raised at a recent council meeting on behalf of residents of Holywell.

Taking in Charge of Holywell

“This development is on the Inspectorate Division list of unfinished estates for review with the Development Company and financial backers.  The developments are being prioritized at present to secure full and satisfactory completion /reinstatement and all enforcement avenues (planning, building control, environmental and security bond) will be utilized as relevant to the particular circumstances.
A meeting was held with the developer Albany homes on the 9th of August. Several outstanding issues at Holywell were brought to the attention of the developer as covered by different council departments. We are expecting a detailed submission from the developer regarding outstanding snags and their completion within the coming months.

Taking in charge can proceed when all the outstanding issues are resolved.”

Pedestrian Crossing at the School

“The Traffic Section has been liaising with the Principal of the Educate Together School in Holywell in order to determine the most appropriate measures necessary to ensure pedestrian safety.  It is reported that there are currently 90 pupils attending this school, the majority are dropped to school by car.  The Principal was very interested in the Walking Bus Scheme and has undertaken to establish travel routes of pupils and will liaise with the recently formed Parents’ Association with a view to determining the level of interest in establishing a Walking Bus Scheme.

Work is due to commence on the permanent school building in January 2012 with a completion date of September 2012.  When the new school has opened, this matter can be revisited.”

We will continue to work on your behalf on these matters. If we can be of any assistance on these or any matters please do not hesitate to contact us.

Please see below some items that my colleague Cllr. Eoghan O’Brien raised at a recent council meeting on behalf of residents of Holywell.

Question 1:

“To ask the Manager to provide an update on the taking in charge of the Parks within Holywell?”

Reply:

Legal documentation in relation to this open space is currently being examined, and if acceptable it may be possible to take the Class 1 open space in charge during February, in relation to the Class 2 open spaces some issues still need to be resolved which are currently being discussed with the developer.

Question 2:

“To ask the Manager to provide an update on the provision and completion of the football pitches at Holywell?

Reply:

Legal documentation in relation to this open space is currently been examined and if acceptable it may be possible to take the Class 1 open space and football pitches in charge during February.

Question 3:

“To ask the Manger to provide an update on the taking in charge of the roads in Holywell Estate?”

Reply:

There are a number of outstanding issues to be addressed within the Holywell Development before the estate can be recommended for taking in charge.  Several meetings have been held between the Transportation Department and the developer to review all outstanding issues.  The taking in charge of this development will be brought before a meeting of the County Council for consideration when all items have been satisfactorily addressed.

Also, I recently held a meeting with Albany Homes in relation to issues in Holywell. Please see over-leaf, a letter which I received from Albany in relation to the Spar Shop, which will open in April 2010 and the taking in charge process.

If you have any queries on this or any issue please do not hesitate to contact myself or Eoghan
