I am pleased to inform you that I have secured a commitment from the Tánaiste & Minister for Education and Skills Mary Coughlan T.D. for the essential building of new classrooms at Balscadden National School, Balscadden.

This is fantastic news for Balscadden National School. Under the funding approved by the Tánaiste the school will have prefabs replaced with two 80 square metre mainstream classrooms.  The construction of a 16 square metre learning support classroom has also been approved.

This is essential work for the school and I’m delighted the Tánaiste has responded very positively to representations I have made on behalf of Balscadden National School and facilitated the funding.

The Building Unit of the Department of Education and Skills will be in contact with the school shortly regarding this important development.

I want to commend the Principal, and the Board of Management of Balscadden National School. They have worked very hard to secure these new classrooms, which will greatly enhance the learning environment for their students.

If I can be of assistance on any issue please do not hesitate to contact me.
