Fianna Fail Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government Éamon Ó Cuív TD has allocated additional support for those areas around the country which were badly hit by December and January’s severe weather conditions.
A total of €9 million is being provided nationally and Fianna Fáil Dublin North candidate Darragh O’Brien TD has confirmed that €151,000 will be made available to Fingal County Council.
“I am delighted that €151,000 is being made available to Fingal County Council to undertake repairs following the severe weather in December and January. This is a real boost for the council, whose staff worked above and beyond the call of duty during the harsh weather to ensure the roads stayed open and people were cared for in their homes.
“Minister Ó Cuív commitment to this issue is steadfast and I am delighted that we have secured this level of funding for our local area. I would also like to commend the staff of Fingal County Council for their hard work during the big freeze,” added Deputy O’Brien.
