MAJOR JOBS BOOST AS FIRM LOCATES IN SWORDS

I welcome the decision of Stream Ireland Limited to invest €2.5 million in a new dedicated solution centre in Swords creating 425 high-quality jobs over the next 12 months.

This is a fantastic announcement for North Dublin and will provide a major boost both in terms of jobs and economic confidence. This is major investment by Stream, €2.5 million, and I'm delighted to see it is being supported by the IDA.

The recruitment for these positions is beginning immediately and the jobs will provide technical support in 17 languages across Europe for a leading manufacturer of video game consoles.

This is another important example to the international community that Ireland can continue to attract top global players in difficult times for the global economy.

I am very heartened to hear the comments of the country manager for Stream Ireland, Martin Schoppler, who said he was ‘looking forward to getting the team established in our new dedicated media and entertainment centre in Swords. With Ireland's availability of highly qualified and skilled workers, we look forward to counting Dublin as a pivotal hub of our European presence.' These are really encouraging comments for Ireland's growth potential.
