Suspended Aer Lingus workers must be reinstated

Aer Lingus management should cease the extremely damaging course of action being pursued which is treating staff very badly and severely damaging the airline’s reputation.
I have been in contact with large number of Aer Lingus workers who have been in contact with me and met representatives of staff last Saturday. It is my clear belief that staff have been shown to be completely flexible over last number of years but last year in particular. The sacrifices and concessions that they have made have contributed greatly to turning around the fortunes of the airline.
I am calling on management to cease the suspension of staff immediately and to reinstate all staff members who have been taken off the payroll.
It is my own personal belief at this stage that the changes in work practices that management are seeking are in fact outside the terms of the Greenfield plan that was agreed by staff and management just last year. The situation at Aer Lingus is escalating and is doing immense damage to the airline’s reputation.
I am also extremely concerned by the course of action the company has taken in hiring in aircraft to operate flight. This has the potential to further damage its financial position and put jobs at risk.
The workers concerned are being treated very badly by management and the company needs to abide by the Greenfield agreement that all sides worked so hard to agree.
