 DONABATE PORTRANE
SCHOOLS:
- Donabate Community College - new secondary school building underway.
- Donabate Portrane Educate Together NS - 16-classroom school on the way.
- St Patrick’s BNS and St Patrick’s GNS - grants awarded to both schools.

CLUBS & SPORTS:
- St Patrick’s GAA Club & St Ita’s AFC - road improvements to grounds, commitment to assist with the development of new Ballamastone grounds.
- New all-weather pitch - €1.25m floodlit, water -based facility, to open in August 2011, benefitting Donabate Community College and Portrane Hockey Club, as well as local primary schools, St Patrick’s GAA, St Ita’s FC and Portrane Athletic FC.

ENVIRONMENT:
- Treatment plant - ‘monster’ plant defeated, new treatment plant serving the area.

COMMUNITY:
- Community Centre - lottery grant awarded to one of best communtiy centres in country, successful community employment scheme in place.
- Residents‘ Associations - working closely with all residents’ associations in the area.
- New jobs - Terminal 2 opening; supported Aer Lingus workers in helping to resolve dispute.
- St Ita’s Hospital - opening of Knockamann intellectual disability unit, new 60-bed residential development for clients of St Joseph’s Service; committed to development of modern services.
- Newbridge House - new playground, new Sunday farmers’ market, improvements to Newbridge House.
- Walkway - campaigning to establish walkway/ cycleway between Donabate and Malahide.

- St Oliver Plunkett’s NS - rebuilding and extension approved on existing school site.
- Pope John Paul II NS - €743,000 in grand aid since 2007 for replacment and repair works.
- St Sylvester’s Infant School - €597,000 in grants since 2009, working to replace temporary accomodation.
- St Andrew’s NS - supporting the development grant to build two additional classrooms and two learning support rooms.

CLUBS & SPORTS:
- Malahide Cricket Club - €450,000 grant to develop Fingal and Ireland’s first one-day international standard cricket ground.
- St Sylvester’s GAA Club - substantial grant aid received for development, Bridgefield area retained for sports fields.
- Malahide United FC - supporting the new development of gym facilities, floodlights upgrade and an extra pitch.
- Malahide Sea Scouts - purpose-built canoe slide at Malahide Estuary, the first of its kind in Ireland.
- Marine facilities - €56,000 allocated for repair of slipway at St James’  Terrace.
- Broomfield all-weather pitch - €200,000 pitch upgrade.

TRANSPORT:
- 42 bus - new routes, now serving Seabury.
- 142 bus - re-routed through the Port Tunnel, serving Malahide estates.
- 102 bus - new improved service operating seven days from Airport to Sutton Station.
- Malahide Shuttle Bus - supporting application
- Trains - increased capacity on peak-time Dart and main-line trains and eight-carriage trains.
- Metro North - on track.

COMMUNITY:
- Drugs - Head Shop closed down in the town.
- Residents’ associations - working closely with residents’ associations in the area.
- All-weather multi-purpose mini pitch - now open in the Seabury estate.
- Playgrounds - open in Robswall and Seabury, Malahide Castle playground upgraded.
- Malahide Castle - €7.5m grant for demense and courtyard, increased tourism and 120 jobs.
- Walkway - campaigning to open a walkway/cycleway between Malahide and Donabate.
- C.A.S.A. - new one acre site secured.
- Malahide Library - new library now open.
