Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Housing, Planning and Local Government Darragh O’Brien TD has welcomed news that 10 additional Gardaí have been assigned to Swords Garda Station.
In addition to the 10 extra gardaí, an additional 2 garda Sergeants have also been allocated to Swords. This is part of an overall allocation of 20 new Gardaí for the R district of Coolock and Swords, with 3 new Garda Sergeants for Coolock also added. Deputy O’Brien said: “Additional Gardaí assigned to Swords Garda Station will aid the struggle to deter criminality in the area. Greater resources in policing across the area is essential to clamp down on the rise in anti-social behaviour. “The value of a permanent Garda presence in our community and on streets in Fingal cannot be underestimated. I and my party are committed to putting extra Gardaí on the streets and will continue to fight for this in the Dáil,” “For the past number of years, I have been fighting for increased Garda resources for North Dublin. I am happy to see these additional gardai being placed in the community because of my continuous campaigning for additional resources. “We have also seen other recent additions, with another extra Sergeant for Malahide Garda Station, bringing it up to 3 Sergeants overall. This is welcome but more needs to be done and I will continue to campaign for extra gardaí in the locality,” concluded Deputy O’Brien. Comments are closed.
