My colleague Cllr Brian Dennehy and I have received antice from Fingal County Council in relation to an application the council has received from Eir for permission to temporarily close a road in the Oldtown/Ballyboughal area for the purpose of carrying out upgrade works to the Eir Network. It is proposed that the road will be closed from 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday 10th April until Friday 14th April 2017. The road in question is: R129 from Browns Cross on the R122 to Ballyboughal at the junction of the R108. Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows: Motorists travelling south bound along the R122 wishing to travel east on the R129 from the R122 or Oldtown to Ballyboughal or locations east of Ballyboughal should travel south along the R122 to the R125 Swords Ashbourne Road taking a left turn onto the R125 continuing to the junction with the R108 taking a left turn onto the R108. Motorists travelling south bound along the R108 through Ballyboughal wishing to travel west along the R129 from Ballyboughal should continue along the R108 to the R125 Swords Ashbourne Road taking a right turn onto the R125 continuing to the junction with the R122 taking a right turn onto the R122. Motorists travelling northbound along the R122 wishing to travel east on the R129 from the R122 or Oldtown to Ballyboughal should travel north along the R122 to the junction with the L1070 taking a right turn onto the L1070 continuing to the junction with the R108 taking a right turn. Motorists travelling northbound along the R108 wishing to travel west along the R129 from Ballyboughal should continue along the R108 to the junction with the L1070 taking a left turn onto the L1070 continuing to the junction with the R122 taking a left turn. Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. Any person may lodge an objection in writing with the Senior Executive Officer, Operations Unit, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 4.00p.m on Friday 24th March 2017.
