My colleague Cllr Brian Dennehy and I have received a notice from Fingal County Council in relation to an application the council has received from Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club Limited for permission to temporarily close roads in the Skerries area for the purpose of holding a motorcycle race.
It is proposed that the roads will be closed from 1.00pm to 9.30pm on Friday 30th June 2017 and from 9.00am to 6.30pm on Saturday 1st July 2017. The roads in question are: • Portion of the R127 from Balcunnin Cross in a north easterly direction towards Skerries, past Milverton House to the first right hand intersection. • The Baldongan – Milverton Road in a southerly direction to the intersection with the Baldongan- Skerries Road (Golf Road). • Portion of the Baldongan – Skerries Road (Golf Road) in a south-westerly direction to Baldongan Cross. • Portion of Ladywell - Ballykea Road (Loughshinny Road) from Baldongan Cross to Balcunnin Cross. Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows: The main diversion route for vehicles travelling from Lusk and south of Lusk to Skerries is via the main roads Lusk to Rush and Rush to Skerries (R128). Vehicles travelling north of Skerries should travel via Balbriggan and R127. Other alternative routes are: Balrothery to Lusk - Drogheda Road, Ballough Man O’War Road, Quickpenny Road Balrothery to Rush - Via Lusk – the main Lusk to Rush Road. Balrothery to Skerries - Rosepark, Cross of the Cage Road, Cross of the Cage Barnageeragh and Balbriggan to Skerries Road. Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. Any person may lodge an objection in writing with the Senior Executive Officer, Operations Unit, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, to arrive no later than 4.00p.m on Friday 9th June 2017.
