Mycolleague Cllr Brian Dennehy and I have received a notice from Fingal County Council in relation to an application the council has received from received from Black Raven Pipe Band for permission to temporarily close a road in the Lusk area.The closure is to facilitate the Fingal Pipe Band Championships.
It is proposed that the road will be closed from 9.00am until 7.00pm Saturday 6th May 2017. The road in question is: The R127, Lusk Relief Road, from the Skerries Road roundabout to the pedestrian traffic lights at the junction of Raheny Close. Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows: Motorist travelling from Skerries on the R127 heading towards Blakes Cross/Swords are to travel through Lusk Village via the Dublin Road joining the R127 again. Motorists travelling from Blakes Cross/Swords on the R127 heading towards Skerries are to travel through Lusk Village via the Dublin Road joining the R127 again. Motorists travelling from Rush on the R128 heading towards Skerries, should continue on the R128/Station Road into the village of Lusk, following the road to the right, onto the Dublin Road/R127 towards Skerries. For traffic from the Lusk Village housing estate diversions are via the Dublin Road or the Raheny Roundabout. Local access for residents and business will be maintained at all times. Any person may lodge an objection in writing with the Senior Executive Officer, Operations Unit, Fingal County Council, Grove Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 to arrive no later than 4.00p.m on Thursday 13th April 2017.
